We asked some of the rescues we help to explain the importance of what we do.

Helping Citizen Rescuers

“I've been a police officer for 16 years and I can't turn away from animals in need.  A black cat known as “garage cat” (now called Bandit) was living in a police garage for 4 years. He wasn't savvy about trying to keep warm. He would lay in wet leaves or under cars and always looked miserable. We would see him suffer all winter long. There was another cat that lived in the garage, and he ended up passing away from antifreeze poisoning. We didn’t want this to happen to Bandit too. We were always worried about him and wanted something better for him. Bandit is feral so adoption was not an option.   That’s when I contacted Better Days and they agreed to help Bandit. At Better Days he can go and come as he pleases, enjoy the inside and the safe outside enclosure. Bandit will never have to be freezing cold again.  I can't ask for anything better than that.”

Better Days also helped us with a mama cat and five kittens.  This mama cat was completely beaten up. She and all her kittens were sick. Where would a cat like this thrive?  Of course, at Better Days! Four of Mama's kittens got adopted but one remained feral and, so she will go to Better Days and find happiness with her mother.”

“I don't know what I would have done without Better Days Rescue, and I am so thankful for them. The sanctuary is their life and their passion.  They care for the cats until their final days. My Christmas wish would be for them to get the funding they need to continue the loving work they do to give a home to cats that have nowhere else to go.” ~~ Tristen

Alesta and her kittens

When we took Alesta in from the shelter, there was now an open cage. This open cage was filled with these tiny kittens that were saved from a storm drain filled with garbage. This is another example of how our sanctuary helps more cats than just the ones in our care. They are now safe and waiting for homes.
